The utility partners leading a $1 billion plan to bring hydropower from Canada into the New England power grid say they've come up with a new route through New Hampshire's North Country.
Northern Pass, led by Hyrdo-Quebec, dropped its original route last year after facing strong opposition from critics.
Critics argued above ground transmission lines would spoil the area's natural beauty, harm the tourist economy and lower property values.
The group says it will submit a new route to state regulators.
