As 2013 rings in, it brings with it some cold temperatures and emergency responders say you should bundle up as you head outside.
The signs of winter are around us, with snow and icicles.
Temperatures are expected to be below average and responders say if you venture out to look out for frost bite and take breaks if you're out shoveling.
And normally when temps dip this low, responders are busy.
"Amazingly it's been pretty quiet over the last few days, it hasn't been too bad, so sometimes it's a little unpredictable," said Essex Rescue Executive Director Dan Manz.
Another thing responders say is to watch chimneys.
They say snow can block them, which can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.
