RICHFORD, Vt. -
In a Main Street, Richford, Vermont apartment tragedy struck early Monday morning.
State police say Louis Miller, 34 also known as BJ, may have accidentally killed himself with a gun.
Next door neighbor and family friend Jennifer Currier was home at the time.
"His room is right next to mine and we heard screaming," said Currier.
When Currier went to apartment 127 she tried to console Miller's family members.
"She just kept saying, over in the my head, my baby, my baby, my baby," said Currier.
Detective Edward Meslin declined an on camera interview but told us Miller wasn't drunk, but had been drinking and made a bad decision as he played with his gun.
It's the second apparent accidental shooting death since Friday when police say a 17-year-old was killed while his brother cleaned a gun in Johnson.
In Miller's case, Currier was surprised to hear what happened.
"It's not like BJ, BJ's all about safety," said Currier.
Currier says miller didn't have any kids but planned to get married this summer.
And now she's trying to be strong for his family that police say witnessed the deadly shooting.
"It didn't seem real until I accidentally looked out the window and he's on the stretcher," said Currier.
Police continue to investigate both shootings.
However, in both cases they believe they weren't suspicious.
