NEWBURY, Vt. -
Vermont State Police are investigating a homicide in Newbury, Vermont.
Police say Dale Rock, 43, of Newbury, was shot and killed at a home near Doe Hill Lane on Christmas night.
The suspect, who is not being named at this time, fled the area in a dark colored Subaru Legacy.
Police say they are currently interviewing a person of interest, but would not elaborate beyond that.
"There is no specific information to suggest an increased risk to the Newbury community or general public as a result of this incident beyond the fact that it is a homicide investigation," said Major Ed Ledo, Commander of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation of the Vermont State Police.
Rock died from a gunshot wound, police said. His body is being transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Burlington for an autopsy.
If you have any information about this case, please contact the Vermont State Police in Bradford at 802-222-4680.
