Northeast Snowstorm on the Way

COLCHESTER, Vt. -

The first widespread snowstorm of the season is makings its way to our region.

Our SkyTracker meteorologists says the snowfall will begin Wednesday night, mainly after 9pm from the south, lasting through much of the day on Thursday, and lingering into Friday morning.

The heaviest snow will fall Thursday morning, then will lighten up in the afternoon.

Here is a look at amounts:

  • Snowfall looks widespread—expect between 8-14", with locally  up to 20" in the mountains and parts of Northern New York.
  • In parts of northern NH just west of the White Mountains, expect 4-9" in areas.
  • Impacts: Difficult travel for motorists and aviation.
  • Lowered visibility in heavy snow.
  • East Coast flights will possibly be impacted as early as Wednesday in the Mid-Atlantic through Friday in the Northeast.
