ST. ALBANS TOWN, Vt. -
Police in St. Albans are searching for two men who they say forced their way into a man's home, holding him at gunpoint.
"The guy put a gun in my stomach and pushed me in the house," said Wesley Clogston, recounting the scary moments of the home invasion.
Clogston opened the door to his St. Albans home Sunday evening, thinking it was his son in-law. Instead, two masked men, dressed in all black, were standing there. Police say they forced their way into his home and took various items.
"They made me open up my safe and they took the medicine and money," said Clogston. He says they also grabbed jewelry out of his desk—and as they excited his home, they took his guitar.
During an interview Monday, Clogston told Fox44 the men took batteries out of his phone so he couldn't make any phone calls. And when they left, he ran to his neighbor's house to call police.
"He came over, he was shaking," said neighbor Judy Sanders. Sanders said she didn't see much, but thinks she has seen the suspects' car before.
Fortunately no injuries were reported during this incident.
Police describe the men as two white males, wearing all black. They were also wearing ski masks to cover up their faces. They left the area in dark vehicle with a loud exhaust.
Investigators say they do have strong leads in this case.
