Fire in St. Johnsbury Ruled Accidental

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. -

A fire that destroyed a building in downtown St. Johnsbury Sunday has been ruled accidental.

Vermont State Police say it was an electrical fire that started in the wall on the first floor, and then quickly spread to second and third floors.

Several apartments and two businesses were destroyed in the fire. Damage estimates are $750,000.

The building, which is located on Railroad Street, was built in 1879.

No injuries were reported.
