BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A lot of people took to the Church Street Marketplace Sunday to pick up a few final gifts for family and friends. But they wouldn't necessarily call it last minute shopping.
"Purely stocking stuffing...stocking stuffer shopping," Katie Ryan said while shopping for some socks for her mom.
It might not be easy to say but there was no stress saving some stocking stuffer socks for the second to last day before Christmas for a lot of shoppers.
"My mom's a sock girl, pretty cheap, take up some space in the stocking. So easy, fun," Ryan said.
"And then just some chocolates."
Ryan wasn't the only one thinking of filling the stocking toe with sweets.
"We can't get enough of it. So it's great and it's not too crowded so it's a great day to do it," Deb Baker-Moore said while shopping at Lake Champlain Chocolates.
And for a visitor from Florida this was the only day to get stocking stuffers and a whole lot more.
"Stocking stuffers and a bunch of gifts because I didn't pack my wife's gifts so I have to go out and buy some gifts," Bob Matricardi said.
For a lot of people a stocking stuffer is just a quick cute gift. but then for some it's not what's under the tree that's the big present but what's next to their fire place.
"Monster's Inc," Finley Hiltz said about what he found in his stocking.
"Monster's Inc because the thing he wanted the most was in the stocking," his mom Jennifer Hiltz added.
The Hiltz's celebrated Christmas early this year meaning Santa already paid his visit to Finley and his brother Maxwell, ate his cookies and left a note.
"It said that finally the elves were getting to sleep because they were so tired from making all that stuff," Mrs. Hiltz said, looking forward to some rest.
And now finally Christmas shopping is done. Unless some people still need to pick up presents for tomorrow. That really would be last minute Christmas shopping.
