Expect high winds to develop overnight Thursday into Friday. The strongest winds will be across the highest mountain tops, sustained at 60-80 mph through a good portion of Friday morning and early afternoon as a low level jet of wind accompanies a powerful winter storm. The photo to the left shows all of the active high wind warnings and advisories where winds could gust over 50-60 mph! The high wind warning is in effect Friday morning through about 7pm Friday evening along the Green mountains and western slopes. The advisory is for the northeast kingdom and the Adirondacks of New York for the same time frame.
