Man Charged in Danville, Vt. Shooting Incident

The man who was shot in Danville, Vt. back on September 18th was issued citations for the incident.

According to a press release, 36-year-old William Mahoney is being charged with simple assault of a law enforcement officer, unlawful trespass, negligent operation, aggravated operation without consent of the owner, driving while license is suspended, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Mahoney is accused of stealing a car, crashing it then breaking into a nearby home. After the homeowner confronted him, he went inside of a school bus and made threats over the intercom in the bus.

Police shot him inside the bus after he wasn't obeying their commands. They say Mahoney had an empty gun holster and appeared to be reaching for a gun.

Mahoney is incarcerated at the Southern State Correctional facility. He is do in court on January 28, 2013.
