SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
On this chilly day, hundreds of people lined up to enjoy hot soup and sandwiches.
That's because a Panera Bread just opened at the corner of Shelburne Road and McIntosh Street in South Burlington.
The restaurant prides itself in giving back to the community. Left over bread is donated to "Feeding America" every night.
Panera was also able to put 45 people to work at this new location.
"We want to create a culture, not just a place to go eat, but somewhere where you can relax, you can have a meeting and you feel like this is my cafe," District Manager, David Almond said.
"I like their coffee and their salads and every once in a while, I treat myself to a scone," Customer, Linda Retchen said.
This is the third Panera Bread to open in Vermont.
Berlin and Williston will be getting one by June!
