Sporting Goods Store Pulls Certain Guns Off Its Shelves

WILLISTON, Vt. -

While some stores are selling more guns, one national change has decided to take some off the shelves.

Dick's Sporting Goods has pulled certain rifles from its stores, including the one in Williston, Vermont.

The company released a statement Tuesday.

In it, officials say they are heartbroken over the shooting in Newtown.

Some Vermonters say they aren't sure if this will make a difference.

"These are weapons that kind of go above and beyond that. It's not the answer but it's certainly a step in the right direction," said Reuben Jackson.

"I think that gun and assault weapons like that are too readily available and I don't see the need for them in everyday life," said David Weiss.

In the Dick's Sporting Goods store near Newtown, Connecticut they took it a step further by removing all guns from the store.
