President Obama Expected to Speak at Newtown Vigil Sunday

Posted: Updated:

President Obama is heading to Newtown, Connecticut today (Sunday) to meet with the families of the victims of the school massacre.

20 children and 6 adults were killed when a gunman opened fire at the Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday.

Hours after news broke of the shooting, President Obama addressed the nation, wiping away tears, he said he grieved first as a father.

The President had planned to travel to Maine this week as part of his "fiscal cliff" negotiations but canceled the trip because of the shooting.

The White House says the President will speak at an interfaith vigil at 7pm eastern tomorrow.

ABC 22 has complete coverage of that vigil with a live press conference at 7pm.
