Let's be honest, a little snow would help make it feel more like the holiday season. We are behind the 8 ball (or snow ball, if you prefer...) so far this season for snowfall. In the Burlington area, we are running about 7-inches behind average for snowfall so far this season. Through December 13, we have tallied up 4.9" so far at Burlington Int'l airport. At this point last year, we had 7.9" of snow so far. (See image, top left, click to enlarge)
We will likely make up for that deficit in the next week with a much more active period setting up. 2 storm systems of note will bring a light to moderate snow accumulation across our region. one for Sunday-Monday, and another Tuesday-Wednesday. Granted, we are several days out, it's worth taking a stab at snowfall amounts at this point, at least for a ball park. I feel Sunday-Monday we will get about 1-3" in the Champlain Valley, and then the Tues/Wed system...well, I won't even take a shot at that yet because there really isnt much consistency and agreement among models just yet. One thing is for sure, it's a potent and "juicy" storm, but how much of that "juice" affects us? Details to be determined... stay tuned.
