Tuesday we told you FEMA is prepared to buy several homes ruined by Tropical Storm Irene in Essex County.
Now Clinton County leaders say homes there will also be bought out.
Right now there's only one house approved in the Town of Ausable.
At least 50% of the house had to be destroyed and had to be in the flood plain to be considered.
After more than a year Clinton County leaders are anxious to get these projects started.
"This is a complicated program. To do it right, it does take some time, we've been through it several times. Do I think it could be done more quickly? Maybe, but they do a thorough job," said Clinton County Deputy Administrator Rodney Brown.
The property will now be appraised to see how much money homeowner will get.
Once a deal goes through the government owns the land and nothing can be built on it again.
