We have word on the healthiest state and Vermonters, you get a standing ovation!

The Green Mountain state still has the top spot in the nation.

This is the 6th year in a row that Vermont tops the list.

Low infectious disease, high per capita health funding, and availability of primary care doctors help earn this honor.

And locals say Vermonters love exercise too!

"I used to not be very active myself and in the last few years I because a runner. And I always feel really good because everyone in Vermont seems to be running in a marathon or doing a 5k or a charity race and so I feel like I'm part of it," Sarah Jennings, Burlington resident, said.

It's not all good news, the foundation says, Vermont's cancer death rate is higher along with binge drinking.

Out of 50 states, New Hampshire and New York didn't do too bad either. The Granite state was in 3rd place and New York came in at a respectable 18th.
