Local Store Promotes "Crutches 4 Africa"

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

If you're looking for an easy way to give back this holiday season, Edible Arrangements in South Burlington is collecting old mobility devices for people in need all over Africa.

The organization, "Crutches 4 Africa," collects mobility devices for injured Africans in need of crutches, wheelchairs and canes.

As the owner of the Edible Arrangements in South Burlington and a part-time Professor at Champlain College, Alison Estey, decided the best way to help the cause is to give her students an assignment to find a way to connect business and charity.

"I want to show that you can help the community and do business," said Estey.

For the past week her students have been encouraging people to donate mobility devices. Estey is offering free chocolate dipped fruit for anyone who brings in a mobility device and is hoping to reach the organization's goal of collecting one million mobility devices.

Donations can be made until December 16th.
