Facebook is playing a huge role in making sure a Barre family has what it needs to get back on their feet.
Kysie Breer and Damian Barnett's Phelps Road home went up in flames last week. It happened while Barnett was taking the four kids to school. The house was destroyed.
The family is now staying in a hotel, so costs are really adding up, but friends are rallying to help.
Miranda Tremblay, a friend of Breer's, is using her house for a drop-off site, she's organized it all through social networking. She says the big need right now is household items, and toys.
"Knowing they're extremely awesome, amazing people who would do this for anybody else, they are a very giving family," Tremblay said.
A chicken benefit dinner is planned for Saturday, it'll be held at the Elks Club in Barre.
- Social hour starts at 5, dinner at 6.
- 200 tickets are available, 2 for $40, or $25 per person. There will also be a 50-50 raffle.
