ST. ALBANS, Vt. -

Vermont State Police cited 41-year-old Mark Staake as a fugitive from justice for his involvement in a murder for hire plot.

This comes from multiple arrest warrants that were issued by New Mexico officials.

Staake is wanted in New Mexico on two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

He's scheduled to appear in Franklin County District Court on December 10 and is being held without bail.

Staake along with his nephew Tanner Ruane are being investigated for their part in a murder for hire plot against two Vermonters.
