BURLINGTON, Vt. -

The Burlington Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery on North Street at Park Street Tuesday night.

Police say the victim, a 29-year-old temporary resident living in Burlington, Vt. from Massachusetts, was approached by a black male who demanded the victim's wallet and other personal items. The suspect displayed a knife during the incident.

Police then say a fight broke out leaving the suspect with facial injuries, not from the knife, before fleeing the area. The male didn't obtain the victim's wallet or any property.

The suspect is described as being between the ages of 17 and 19, 5'10" tall, and weighing 150 lbs. He was wearing a black beanie.

The Burlington Police Department is offering a cash reward after the person(s) involved are arrested and convicted.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jeffrey Beerworth, at 802-658-2700, or Crime Stoppers at 802-864-6666.
