NY State Police: Bicyclist Killed in Plattsburgh, NY Accident Tuesday

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -

A Plattsburgh, N.Y. man was hit by a car riding his bicycle Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release, around 5 p.m. Tuesday, a 2006 Honda, driven by 44-year-old Judith Exford, was making a left turn into the entrance of North Bowl Lanes when she hit 55-year-old Charles Signaigo. Exford told police that at the last second she noticed Signaigo and tried to stop before hitting him.

Signaigo was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County coroner.

Police say they are still investigating the cause of the accident and the District Attorney's Office was advised.
