SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. -
A Saranac Lake, N.Y. man is facing charges after police say he made up a story about being shot.
55-year-old William Martin is accused of filing a fake police report.
It all started with a 911 call one week ago.
Martin said he was robbed and shot on the train tracks near Pine Street.
Police put out a warning for two men on the loose.
The next day, officers say, the story didn't add up.
They say Martin may have actually shot himself in the shoulder.
