BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -

Six protesters were found guilty Tuesday of trespassing on the grounds of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant.

The trial lasted just one day in Vermont Superior Court in Brattleboro. A jury found the 6 elderly women guilty after they padlocked the gate and chained themselves to it last August, right after Tropical Storm Irene hit the area. The women are members of the Shut it Down Affinity Group.

The judge ordered each of them to pay a fine of $350.
