MONTPELIER, Vt. -
We now know how much the Vermont Disaster Relief fund has raised for Irene recovery. The fund raised more than $6.5 million.
About $3 million was raised in just the past few months.
The committee's goal is to raise $10 million.
The money fills the gap after people get assistance from the federal government, private insurance and other grant programs.
As of earlier this month, the fund has approved $2.5 million in assistance to more than 200 Vermonters.
