SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

The South Burlington Police Department says the driver that struck a pedestrian Friday on Williston will not face any charges because the pedestrian is at fault.

A press release says the driver, William Burgess, of South Burlington, Vt., hit a pedestrian, David Lloyd, of South Burlington, Vt., when he ran across Williston Road from Elsom Parkway.

The road is not marked with a crosswalk and is poorly lit. Police say at the time of the crash it was dark and raining.

Lloyd was transported to Fletcher Allen Medical with what police say were severe injuries. Burgess was not injured.
