BENNINGTON, Vt. -
Southwestern Vermont Medical Center plans to reduce expenses by up $5 million this fiscal year.
The hospital's spokesperson says after they make reductions they'll form a plan to reduce expenses up to 20% over the next five years.
This will lead to fewer jobs.
Reports show there is not a plan to lay off a large amount of people.
Other hospitals in the area have also seen a drop in revenue as a result of fewer billable services such as surgeries and tests.
