WILLISTON, Vt. -
Millions of people went straight from the Thanksgiving dinner table to department stores. Black Friday madness started earlier than ever this year - but still, people were willing to wait in line to get their hands on that cheap laptop or TV.
Black Friday shoppers say the deals are just too good to pass up.
Meet Arial, Erica and Kelly, they've been best friends for years and on Friday morning, they were running on zero hours of sleep.
"We've had three coffees," Black Friday Shopper, Kelly Ross said, along with friends Ariel Maxfield and Erica MacRitchie.
But despite the lack of sleep, these ladies came prepared for Black Friday, "I always get the circulars and I go online and scope out all the good deals," Ross said.
After a turkey dinner with all of the trimmings, it was go time! This matching trio started at 8 Thanksgiving night at the Berlin mall, then it was off to the Williston stores.
"We went to Walmart and stood in line and got great deals there," Ross said.
Then I caught up with them on the Kinect dance floor in Best Buy around 6 am.
"We've been waiting for our credit cards to be shut off from home," Maxfield joked.
But they certainly weren't the only early birds, its estimated that 147 million people took advantage of Black Friday sales, and Kyle Kubas was one of them.
"I'm out of the food coma and in shopping mode now," Kubas said.
The average person spends about four hundred dollars on black Friday and doesn't even get out of bed - or should I say go to bed, "I have not slept," Kubas said, for less than two hundred dollars in total savings... and for the long line full of eager electronic junkies, the 40 inch flat screen for under two hundred bucks was worth it!
"Two years in a row that's been the most popular item," Best Buy Store Manager, Brian Shedd said.
And the University Mall, as you can imagine, just as busy... and filled with half priced items!
"Will you continue this tradition?" I asked. "Absolutely!" Ross said.
Many of the stores have Black Friday deals that last throughout the entire weekend.
