Family Promise of Clinton County Works to Restructure itself

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -

Officials from one Clinton County non-profit group, which helps the homeless, are trying to restructure to survive.

Last month "Family Promise" leaders decided to dissolve for the rest of this year.

They've been meeting to try and figure out ways to open in 2013 with a cheaper operating budget.

In doing so they eliminated the director's position.

Maureen Bradish has been there for a decade and isn't excited about leaving.

"I feel really sad about it. It's been such a big part of my life, I just feel really sad and I just wish that there was a way that it could work," said former Family Promise Director Maureen Bradish.

The group needs to raise more than $100-thousand dollars to open in 2013.

The board of directors plans to make a decision on the future of "family promise" next month.
