EDINBURG, N.Y. -
After spending more than $45 million, a new bridge has opened in the Adirondacks.
State Transportation officials say the Batchellerville Bridge opened last week, a year ahead of its original completion date.
Much of that was due to last winter's good weather.
The bridge carries Route 98 over the Great Sacandaga Lake in Edinburg, N.Y.
The new bridge can carry heavier vehicles and is taller to allow more room for boats.
