ESSEX, Vt. -
Crews battled a fire at an Essex, Vt. home.
The call came in around 2:30 a.m.
When they arrived, they found fire on the first floor of a home on Rivendell Drive. Crews had the fire under control in about half an hour.
The homeowner was forced to leave the building and was taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.
"The homeowner reported hearing popping sounds and exited the building," Chris Gaboriault, Essex Junction Fire Chief, said.
Right now, they don't know what those popping sounds are and are still working on a cause.
