Police Search for Shooter in Barre

BARRE, Vt. -

Barre City Police are searching for the person who shot a 20 year old man on Brooklyn Street. Police say the victim of the attack is ok.

At 5:30 PM on Thursday night a fight outside of 59 Brooklyn Street resulted in 20 year-old Seth Parry being shot once in the shoulder. Parry was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center then to Burlington where he received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Now police are hoping to get more information about who attacked him then ran off after the shooting. Barre Police Chief Timothy Bombardier said that investigators went to Burlington to interview Parry about the incident.

A witness told police that Parry was yelled at by a man dressed fully in black who called him a "woman beater." Police believe that Parry and the person who shot him likely knew each other and this doesn't appear to be a random act of violence.

Residents on Brooklyn Street wouldn't comment much on the shooting. Many of them say they didn't see it or hear it. None of the people who witnessed or heard the event would talk on camera.

The Barre City Police are investigating the incident and if would like anyone with information to call (802) 476-6613.
