PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
In Plattsburgh, N.Y., the Salvation Army officially rang in the holiday season.
They held the "Red Kettle Kickoff" in the Champlain Centre Mall and hosted community leaders as well as some singing pre-schoolers.
The main message was a call for volunteers.
There will be 15 locations across Clinton county where you can find bell ringers for donations.
They'll need plenty of wrists for ringing, but could also use help in many other ways.
If you'd like to volunteer or work seasonal employment at the Salvation Army you can visit them at their location on Catherine Street.
