Williston Police Continue Searching For a Serial Flasher

WILLISTON, Vt. -

A man in his 20's police believe is behind a series of disturbing events that took place in Williston, Vermont this week.

The latest coming in a quiet neighborhood, just at the end of a bike trail off Old Stage Road.

That's where police say a man stopped his red SUV next to a woman, while he had his pants down and playing with himself.

Actions that caught Barbara Haftarczuk by surprise when she heard what happened.

"This is a pretty nice neighborhood," said Haftarczuk.

The Williston woman was walking alone Thursday but admits now after several incidents this week she's paying closer attention to her surroundings..

"It starts slow and then it escalates. So definitely there should be a fear," said Haftarczuk.

Three incidents within 3 days.

Starting on Monday, Williston police say after leaving home depot, a man knocked a box out of woman's hands and snapped a photo of her as she bent over.

Right after that they say he went to nearby Marshall Avenue and pulled his pants down in front of a woman as he touched himself.

And then Thursday, they say he did it again on Old Stage Road.

Now police are asking for the public's help.

"If somebody pulls up next to you in a vehicle, just get a good plate number, if he does anything suspicious," said Williston Detective Michael Lavoie.

Critical information that they need to help get him off the street.

"Are you hoping this photo will lead to an arrest?" said Fox44.

"Yes I'd like to get this guy off the streets," said Lavoie.

Police say they're also working on a sketch, which they hope to release Friday.

If you have any information you're asked to call police at (802) 878-6611.
