Some Vermont Air National Guardsmen are expected to be in Afghanistan by January.
The guardsmen will work at airfields doing similar functions as a public works department.
According to Vermont Public Radio, they will deploy very soon.
Their duties include maintaining heat and hot water as well as aircraft.
They are expected to be in Afghanistan for 6 months.
