ST. GEORGE, Vt. -
A one room schoolhouse, used for more than a century was saved by a group of St. George community members.
Today, the "St. George Little Red Schoolhouse" was on the move!
It was built in 1852 and last used as a school in 1965.
A crowd full of supporters and alumni watched the careful procedure.
"As far as its new function it will be a civic building for the town, it's going to be owned by our trust but it's going to be open to the public for meetings and gatherings," Patrick Biddiscombe of Dwell Properties and Contracting said, Biddiscombe is also a St. George Historic and Conservation Trust Board Member.
The new and improved version of the schoolhouse should be up and running by August.
