SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Thirty Vermont Air Guard members are set to leave for Afghanistan this weekend.
According to a spokesman for the Guard, they will head out from the Air Guard base at the Burlington International Airport.
The airmen will provide engineering support for airfield operations, spending 6 months overseas.
They will also do facility maintenance and repairs.
This will be the 10th deployment of Vermont Guard troops to Afghanistan since 2001.
