WATERBURY, Vt. -

At the Vermont Emergency Management press conference, Vt. Governor Peter Shumlin said Vermont had "escaped the bullet" from Sandy.

The biggest issues in Vermont were outages and downed trees. No one was injured and there was no significant damage across the state.

Vermont is allocating resources to other states that need help with Sandy recovery. He said two helicopters from the Vermont National Guard are going to New Jersey.

Gov. Shumlin will be briefing with President Obama this morning to discuss ways Vermont can help in other states.
