Man Sentenced to 30 Months in VT Tour Bus Theft

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A Michigan man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to federal charges he agreed to buy two tour buses from a Vermont company for $600,000, but then took them without paying for them.
 
Fifty-four-year-old Seth Murdock of Detroit also was sentenced on Monday in U.S. District Court in Burlington to three years of supervised release after his prison term and ordered to pay back $30,700.
 
Murdock has been in custody since his arrest in September of 2011.
 
Court document say Murdock agreed to buy the buses from Lamoille Valley Transportation of Morrisville for use by his company Murdock Tours and Travel.
 
Murdock took possession of the two buses in June 2010, but two companies denied him loans to pay for them.
