Vermont Emergency Management Team To Update at 11 a.m. Tuesday

WATERBURY, Vt. -

The Vermont Emergency Management team will provide an update on the situation in Vermont.

That will happen at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Vermont Emergency leaders say they're ready to go as Sandy continues its path in Vermont.

A command center is setup in Waterbury, Vt.

Public Safety Commissioner Keith Flynn says it's all hands on deck for Tuesday.

All state police were on duty Monday night.

As of now, no roads are expected to close, but Flynn says the safest bet is not to travel at all.

"Certainly we would recommend during the peak time when the winds are at their strongest, if you don't have to go somewhere, that now would be a good time to stay home. Because obviously the less traffic on the roads the safer it will be for everybody," Flynn said.

Right now, there are 3 emergency centers set up across the state and many schools are closed.
