Deer, SUV Collide in VT, Driver OK

CASTLETON, Vt. -

Vermont State Police say a driver escaped serious injury after a deer ran from the shoulder of the road right in front of his SUV.
 
Police said Terence Walsh of Benson was driving east on U.S. Route 4 in Castleton when he collided with the deer about 9:40 a.m. Friday.
 
The deer was killed; Walsh's vehicle had severe front end damage.
 
Walsh, who did not go to the hospital, indicated he was traveling about 65 mph at the time of the crash and was wearing his seat belt.
