Power crews are gearing up for the potential impacts from Sandy.
NYSEG says whenever a major storm is headed for the area like Hurricane Sandy, crews are on heightened alert.
They monitor forecasts around the clock and prepare their call centers.
They also make sure all the equipment they may need is available.
The same goes for Green Mountain Power.
They even reached out to utility crews in eastern Canada and Pennsylvania in case more help is needed.
They have also drawn down their hydro-facilities in anticipation of heavy rainfall.
