Posted: Updated:
COLCHESTER, Vt. -

Vermont officials are going to be holding the first hearing to get opinions about how the state should achieve its long-term goal of getting 90 percent of the state's energy from renewable sources by 2050.

Thursday's meeting at Colchester High School on Vermont's Comprehensive Energy Plan is the first of four that will be held across the state.

Bryan Davis of the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission says the forum is to share information and offer concrete projects Vermonters can implement to reach the goal.

Kevin Schwenzfeier of the Northwest Regional Planning Commission says the event will focus on the energy conservation at home and while traveling.

The meeting is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
