NORTH BENNINGTON, Vt. -
Residents in North Bennington have voted and it looks like they're in favor of replacing the public school with an independent one.
The vote came down Tuesday and it was a close one.
About 300 people voted for the change and more than 250 voted against it.
The School Board cites budget restraints.
Now, the State Board of Education has to approve it.
If approved, the Public School will close before next July.
