St. Albans Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Hometown Beverage on South Main Street in the city Tuesday.
Police say a man came into the store asking for a pack of cigarettes. When the clerk went to get the pack of cigarettes, the man went around the counter, displayed a large knife and demanded money.
The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say the man is in his 40's, between 5'6"-5'10" with a goatee and heavy build. He was wearing jeans, a light red sweatshirt with no hood and a red winter hat.
