MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Our morning show election interview series continues tomorrow. Now until election day, we'll have an exclusive interview with a different candidate each morning. Tomorrow during the 6 am hour, a one-on-one with Wendy Wilton, who's running for state treasurer.
Keep watching to see who we'll have on next.
Speaking of Wendy Wilton, the race for treasurer has become pretty heated in the last few weeks. We have been following Wilton and Incumbent Beth Pearce's war of words.
Today, State Senators weighed in on what has become one of the most buzzed about rivalries.
A handful of Democratic Senators threw their support behind the Incumbent, Beth Pearce.
Many of the law makers worked with Wendy Wilton when she was in the Senate and fear her decision making could mean higher taxes. The Senators say it will be impossible for Wilton to have an un-biased outlook.
They say Pearce is a public servant who understands bond ratings.
"The average town doing a sewer system, the average school construction, the highway department building highways, bond ratings matter, low bond ratings are higher taxes, Beth Pearce has kept us from falling into those sorts of traps," Democratic State Senator Mark MacDonald said.
Again, Beth Pearce is Vermont's current treasurer. Wendy Wilton is Rutland's treasurer.
It'll be up to you to decide who wins, the election is just two weeks from today.
