ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. -
Volunteers in Vermont are helping make thousands of meals for malnourished kids around the world.
They were part of the event Feed My Starving Children Mobilepack.
In Essex Junction Friday, people packed bags full of soy nuggets, a veggie blend, and rice. Organizers say these specially designed meals will help malnourished kids bounce back.
"This is such an incredible hands on way to do a global mission and help in this desperate situation right near your home, right near your home in Vermont," says Karen Lawrence, event host leader.
Organizers hope to pack 125,000 meals between Friday and Saturday. They will then be shipped somewhere in the world, wherever the need is greatest.
