BENNINGTON, Vt. -
A crash in Vermont has claimed the life of a Vermont woman.
It happened in Bennington, Vt. just before noon Thursday.
Police say the driver of the car, 86-year-old Ruth Cherbonneau crossed the center line and hit an oncoming truck.
She was trapped in her car and was unresponsive when rescue crews arrived.
She died at the scene.
An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
The car also caught fire, but was put out by a passing motorist.
The driver of the truck was able to get out and wait for emergency responders. No word on the extent of his injuries.
