A Vermont man was arrested Wednesday on animal cruelty charges.
According to Vermont State Police, Donald Loveland, 51, of Pownal, Vt. is accused of shooting 20-year-old Amber Kilbride's dog back in August.
Kilbride told police she heard gun shots at her neighbor's home after the dog escaped from his collar.
Police say, the dog was later found dead with a gunshot wound in the woods near Loveland's home.
Loveland is due in court in November.
