It takes time and practice to come up with a real spooky scare for Halloween.
The folks with Nightmare Vermont are certainly putting in the effort.
They took FOX44 and ABC22 along for a preview.
The performers for this year's event have been practicing for weeks.
There will be an hour-long tour through 5 abandoned houses near the airport.
The theatrical performance is so interactive with the audience, one person per tour has to sign a waiver if they want to be part of the act and be man-handled by monsters.
"They let everyone at the event know you are fair game and we never tell the teasers what will happen, per say, it's always a surprise," Jana Beagley, Event Director, said.
For those who want a hands-off experience, they also designate people who want no touching during the tour.
