Two NYC Men Safe After Being Rescued Trying to Climb Avalanche Mountain in Lake Placid, N.Y.

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -

Two New York City men are safe after being rescued trying to climb Avalanche Mountain in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Police say the two men called 9-11 Thursday afternoon saying they were lost.

Rangers launched a search, but called it off as temperatures got close to freezing.

The pair did survive the night and found their way off the mountain at daybreak.
